Jaleo in Chantenay
Jaleo is a real gastrobar at Place Jean Macé in Nantes, known for a Catalan-influenced dining experience. The demo explores how a digital introduction could convey the pace, food and setting of the restaurant.
The design question
How can a website feel like an evening out?
A restaurant introduction needs practical information, but Jaleo’s atmosphere also invites people to linger. The demo uses pacing, food imagery and restrained typography to make the menu part of a longer story.
The concept
Let atmosphere lead, then make the details easy to find
The page opens with mood and moves through the room, story, dishes and menu before reaching location information. This is a proposed experience, not a measured customer journey.
The website experience
A menu inside the story
The demo presents food categories and prices directly on the page, rather than hiding the menu behind a download. A gallery and an embedded map support exploration of the place.
Responsive implementation
One story across screen sizes
The React interface uses responsive layouts and motion. The source includes mobile-specific spacing and layout choices, but this demo has not been validated as a published restaurant service.
Engineering & delivery
Built as a demo
The local project uses React 19, TypeScript, Vite 6, Tailwind via CDN and Framer Motion. It has page title and description metadata. It does not show a working reservation action, a production URL, or verified deployment and search results.
